EDIT: Solved my issue. Apparently I just needed to reorder the arguments a bit.

This worked for reading, but not erasing.
sudo flashrom -E -c MX25L6406E/MX25L6408E -V -p linux_spi:dev=/dev/spidev0.0,spispeed=8000
Changed it to,
sudo flashrom -E -V -p linux_spi:dev=/dev/spidev0.0,spispeed=8000 -c MX25L6406E/MX25L6408E
and it worked just fine.

Hello Everyone,

I was hoping to get a little guidance here. I am working with a Macbook Pro A1286, with chip "MX25L6406E/MX25L6408E".
I'm in the process of removing the firmware lock, and I've been able to successfully dump the chip 3 times. It has since been edited and transferred back.
Now, I'm attempting to erase the chip and it fails every time. So I thought my cables came loose, but it reads just fine.

When reading it was required that I had "MX25L6406E/MX25L6408E" as the selected chip.

I'm a beginner when it comes to this all. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
