hi all

ive hit a slight wall in removing efi lock on my macbook pro. im using a buspirate and the chip im trying to read is a MICRON 25Q064A.

however mi get the following

flashrom.exe -p buspirate_spi:dev=COM10
flashrom v0.9.7-r1781 on Windows 6.2 (x86)
flashrom is free software, get the source code at www.flashrom.org

Calibrating delay loop... OK.
Bus Pirate firmware 6.1 and older does not support SPI speeds above 2 MHz. Limiting speed to 2 MHz.
It is recommended to upgrade to firmware 6.2 or newer.
Found Generic flash chip "unknown SPI chip (RDID)" (0 kB, SPI) on buspirate_spi.

not sure what im doing wrong? ive plulled the battery from the macbook so not sure if the buspirate is providing enough power to the chip?

i used to use bus pirate. i now use raspberry pi. it's easier.

try the -C command to specify chip model. also experiment with "power" states:

battery connected, magsafe disconnected
battery disconnected, magsafe connected
battery and magsafe connected
neither connected
