New to the forum and just need someone to point me in the right direction.

I purchased logic board to repair a A1312 / EMC 2429 Mid 2011 iMac. I have the serial number of the iMac that died and it's still valid and not locked out.

On this model iMac, can I read / dump the old EFI / BIOS and flash it to a new chip which I can solder on the "new" replacement logic board?

I see from the forum on the Macbook Pro's there seems to be some handshaking that goes on at first power up so it can communicate with the BIOS.

What things do I have to be concerned about on this model iMac to move the current serial number / BIOS over to the replacement logic board?

Willing to read and dig into it, just need someone to point me in the right direction from their experience.

Thanks!
