For what it's worth, 2014 is the last year I've been able to use SOIC clips on

on 2015 a1502, you must remove the logic board and flip it over to find the EFI chip.

just sit tight, it won't be too long

Any updates on a clip for the a1502?

Seems to be using a Windbond 25064FVIQ

Thanks

There has been much progress on the 2015 adapters and equipment, but also many snags.

If you're uncomfortable pulling chips, I can put together some techniques that may be more amenable, however will still require soldering directly to the mainboard.

There's always brute force too (-:

I know we've been saying"sit tight" for a long time, but the work is being done as quickly as possible to release equipment that is both safe and easy to use

From my research that's what it seems like.

I'm not comfortable doing chip-off but would be intersted in the methods that involve soldering to the board.

Thanks for the quick response also

on new motherboards, not all contacts of the chip are connected to legs of debug connector. Accordingly, I think that all will have to solder at least one contact to the check point
(I know because I had unlocked 12-inch MacBook)

Really? Which legs of the chip aren't connected?

I have 2015 a1502 and 2015 a1534 schematic, and both debug headers (if I recall correctly) have the same pinout.

I've unlocked a1502 via the debug header using CS, CLK, MOSI, and MISO.

I don't believe there is power or ground to the chip, but that's easy and doesn't require soldering.

I'm sorry! You right! I forgot that not all the legs are needed to read and write chip. As I have removed chip from board I have called legs to debug header and not all of them came to header. But not all are needed)) Sorry))))

No need for apologies!

Sometimes I'm right, sometimes I'm wrong.
