I'm working on the same 12-inch MacBook and want to try to unsolder the chip with the motherboard and flash. I did a post with the question of the position of the BIOS chip, and got an answer. I unsolder the chip but can not find datasheet for this chip. I do not know 1.8 or 3.3 Volt is it?

I also have an a1534 to unlock, was wondering if it's better to use the clip, and if you guys could confirm what is the final voltage required, some other threads it says it's a 1.8v chip, other threads say there are two different efi chips in these macbooks...

There are two SPI roms accessible. The EFI rom is 3.3v and the ssd rom is 1.8v

Thanks!! That means that with a clip for this machine, the required voltage to use would be the usual 3.3v... Am I correct? thanks again!

Correct. To interface with the EFI rom, you will use clip4.0.3 and 3.3v

I can send you the schematic if you'd like to have a look

I received the clip, and I have used clips and reprogrammers succesfully in the past, although it was a few months ago already. I do have two main questions:

1.- The clip can be connected in two positions, right? which one is the good position?

2.- what chip am I supposing to be re-rprogramming? where can I find a chip scheme so I know where to connect cable 1, cable 2, cable 3, etc... to my typical ebay SOFI reprogrammer?

If I get these two things, I can start testing how to read it. I have an EMC2746 Is it already documented a succesful setup for this 2015 model?

Thanks!!

Thanks! I only have two main questions really, they rest I already know it, I think, so far. Already reprogrammed many mani mac mini's, imac, macboks. The questions, you guys know this for sure:

Which one of these two positions is the correct one for the white clip this machine uses?

A )

B )

And the last question, how can I provide the 3.3v, in case my programmer does not give enough power? connect an external battery, to what pins in the reprogrammer?

Thanks!!

This is how I have it right now. In the clip side:

On the side to the re-programmer:

Hope this will help other people who bought or might buy the clip. Once I have connected it properly and with the correct energy setup, I should be ready to read the dump, edit it and write it back unlocked. THIS IS A 2015 A1534, not the newer model, this should be easy to do.
