Hi everyone,
Ok so i have this problem.

I have a A1502 with EMC 2835 that i removed icloud from but now it doesnt boot up again.
I'm using Sofi SP8-B programmer, I need to remove the chip from the mainboard to program it because the programmer doesnt recognize it other way
I have tried with the original bin file, the original cleaned, and some others that i found on this forum but anyone worked
at this point i dont know what can be failing, any help will be appreciated

i will attach the Bin files that i used in case that someone wants to take a look
*a1502s3.bin is the original file
*a1502cleaned.bin is obviously the cleaned original
*cleana1502orj.bin is the one that i downloaded from this forum

I am feeling like you killed the chip soldering it.

i think you soldered the chip not very good ( one or two pins are not connected well)
Or one of the mini resistors next to the chip are loose
try to solder again heatgun use flux and when you see the solder is melted press the chip with a knife ore something else in his place and hold till its hard

I have never had any sort of luck with the Sofi SP8-B programmer. I would get a Raspberry PI to be sure you are not having an issue with the programmer.
How long are your wires? Do you have an image of your setup?

If I helped you buy me a latte!

Hi,
I got the ame issue with the same model of Mac and the same EFI.

After checking tutorial for EFI unlocking:
- I got desolder EFI chip which is WINBOND 25Q64FV,
- read it using SPIPGM2
- but after dumping it to BIN I had chip erase issue which was caused by bad connection, I had managed it and erased
- I had edit BIN with WinHex then ERASED first occurance of $SVS as in instruction
- then program chip again and solder it
- then my notebook is bricked :(
- I had program again original dump but no results, bricked, I mind CPU is getting hot but no screen appears

I understand that in this case each of BINs are prepared especialy for ones motherboard so there is no way to flash it using other BIN ?
Could you check is everythng ok with the BINS ?
What could be issue ?
I had using SPIPGM2 with other BIOS and everything seems fine.

The password was not cleaned. It is now and everything else looks good. Attached is the cleaned bin file.
I use a Raspberry Pi and never have desolder any chip what so ever. Also, try HxD HEX Editor instead of WinHex. It's a lot better program.

Thanks. I'd uploaded only original dump without cleaning $SVS, but anyway thank you for cleaning out the file.
Moreower problem still exists, when I solder in the chip my mac won't turn on and CPU get hotter, cooler won't turn on.
Is it possible to affect KBC while programming bad flash ? There is no additional KBC bios programmable chip in mac ?

Finally got the issue :)

Here is my solution:
- i get dump no 1 from one of the other post, thanks to mr. Leon the Professional
- i had changed the Serial Number then write clean ME region according to Ghostlyhaks.com tips
- i test my programmer hardware using acer motherboard is it correctly working: erase chip, program it with new bios from website, passed ok
- desolder chip again, erase it, program it with new dump no.2
- put more solder on motherboard pads because this efi is new flat one
- sodler it, and put MB back to case push the power, and suddenly after a longest time it turns on the screen :) yep :)
thank you Ghostlyhaks.com

So, the issue was the chip and or the dump?

I think something went wrong while dumping for the first time and the dump was incorrect, even looks like good one. Chip is the same all the time.
So for me helps downloading other efi dump from the same motherboard clean it and set my SN then write it back to chip.
I hope it helps someone in the future.

Yea man, this is a perfect example of a recovery from a corrupt EFI chip, if you get a bad read, or you have to replace the chip entirely.
