Hello and thanks for this great website where knowledge is not sold.

I tried to hack into my MBA, wish is EFI locked, i used my Raspberry Pi and used the method of soldering the pins on the chip.
i got 3 successful reads (same md5sum) and, removed the first occurrence of $SVS and all beneath data (made it FF FF..). i did that also using 2 software and got the same md5sum, wish is good so far.
i have erased the chip, and write the new bin file (same size of course), all went good in the output of flashrom.
now, when i reassembled the MBA, it won't boot, the init sequence is started (fan turn 1 sec) and it shut-down.
can someone have an idea what's going on ?
This is the MBA model : A1369
This is the EMC : 2469

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried to write the original bin back to the Mac?

It looks to be. Flash the original back and see if it will boot.

You may try clearing PRAM at boot time.

did you damage anything near the chip when soldering?

Did you manage to get this sorted OP? Having the same issue with my A1466/2632. I used the competitor clip and after flash I'm just getting the same fan spin. I've flashed back the original bin files with no success, I then downloaded clean EFI .bins from the repository and a few other places which made no difference. I can still read/write the EFI as well as verify them through flashrom.

All this MBA is doing now is spinning fans for a bit and getting hot :(

Have you performed successful flashes on other machines with your equipment?

yeah, I've done a number of a1369's before this one. My setup hasn't changed and I've followed the same steps.

When you connect the MagSafe, does it illuminate?

Have you attempted SMC reset or clearing the ME region?

Magsafe lights up, starts green then goes orange. MBA continuously tries to boot up from there I think.

I've tried an SMC reset with no luck, I can't try a PRAM reset as it doesn't actually boot up correctly/chime/show anything on screen. By clearing the ME region do you mean just filling it with blank characters? or inserting a clean region instead?

No dice on a clean ME region either.

when you say you "tried an SMC reset with no luck"
does that mean you were unable to complete SMC reset
or
SMC reset was successful, but no change in circumstances

Well.. i have same problem on
MBA A1466 EMC 2559 i5 4gb. mid 2012
get this.. all i did to corrupt it was clip on with no power cord only batt with the Re*** competitor clip and try to read.
found the trick to reading is with power cord but battery off.
after that i could not boot with fan on auto on power plugged in.
tried the ME clean and same.

then i started watching youtube Thunderstrike: EFI bootkits for Apple MacBooks
and it makes sense, they have a crc32 check causing this.
heres the original dump that i flash back with CH341A pro black and still no post.
it detects it as MX25L6405D and its a clean dump not pwded. (was making backup)

i have successfully flashed numerous A1466 with the pi.

if you have voltage problems, that can corrupt the read and the write. assuming yours verified the write, the read is probably bad.
did all three reads checksum?

i believe there's a dump for that model in the repo you should try.

i think i need the 4GB dump as i tried that one for EMC 2559 and no go.
it could have been voltage at first.. but i reverified 3 times
however i did have battery plugged in. and found late last night (3am) i should have only power cord and its stable.
so ill retry the dump again.

funny is i have screen open so the clip matches with flat side of LCD edge.

are you 100% confident in your "original" read?

usually worst case scenario is scouring the internet for another dump
