¿Porque es solo compatible con las 3G?
R-// Porque se necesita retirar una resistencia (físico) y restaurar el iPad con Firmware de iPad wifi.

This is great stuff but old news, my biggest question is can you revert it back to 3g afterwards to allow both WIFI and 3g. This may be accomplished by re-registering with iCloud no?

Eso deberíamos descubrirlo en la comunidad. ☺️ si es noticia vieja pero muy poco compartida. Yo he sacado varias así. Ya que por server es muy caro.
puedes decirnos si una vez desactivado el icloud, se podria volver a soldar esta pieza para que vuelva el 3G??
3G comes back if we solder that thing back?
This hardware removal does work, but the placing the resistor back on does not work. When placing the resistor back on, the iPad goes back into a recovery mode and wont boot. you then have to restore software with the 3G/4G ipsw and upon activation, it is back to being activation locked. Would have been awesome!
Just as a reference, I tried this on an iPad Air 1st gen 16 gb Verizon LTE model. Took the resistor back off and am still using it on 9.3 beta 1 just fine...

I can also confirm that this will work on every WiFi only model iPad. THIS IS NOT A TASK FOR ANYBODY NEW AT THE SCENE OR UNFAMILIAR WITH MICRO-SOLDERING OR WITH SHAKY HANDS!!! Seriously though, that resistor is the size of a speck of dirt. Here's some useful stuff for anybody interested in giving it a shot. If you have a model that's not listed here let me know and I can get the spreadsheet for it as well.
I'm down for that! I just need to get my hands on another iCloud locked iPad wtih 3G/4G and I will make a video from start to finish! Offerup is typically where I get them from but most people there still insist on trying to sell them for the same price as WORKING models >.<
