iCloud Lock iMac

Hi all,

Recently the icloud account of my friend got hacked and they have locked her mac.

We managed to identify the 4-digit code by using the Teensy method.

But once we wanted to type the code into the general login screen, we repeatedly got a message saying that the computer was disabled and that we had to wait 60 minutes before typing a new passcode. However after waiting we got a new screen, stating the same.

I have read about the rEFInd USB loader to fix this issue but isn't this mainly used for reinstalling OSX? Hence wiping the entire hard disk with data loss?

Or can we still save the computer and its data? And if yes how do we need to do this?

We managed to identify the icloud code it just doesnt allow us to type it in...
