raspberry pi and mac efi bios reading/writing

Ok so after lurking on this site for months and watching thread after incomplete thread of people not following thru with how to use the raspberry pi to to write to a A1278 13" macbook pro i decided to post..
i need a complete walk thru of the procedure and what needs to be done..

parts ive assembled are as follows.

1. raspberry pi 3 starter kit from frys electronics. www.frys.com/product/8861882

2.macbook pro 13" (nothing works on it as far as button commands when you start it up.. its locked)

3. cheap ponoma clip..

So ive read a few post where the sophi sp-8 wont work because it wont hold 3.3v and that a vape battery is 3.3v exactly.. well that thread trailed off when some one asked if you needed to cut the wires that lead to the vcc and gnd and just run the battery.. yea i have one and every one agrees there junk lol..

so if some one can help with a walk thru id much appreciate it..
