Agree sir.
I'm a technician but I haven't done a lot of Macs I have soldering skills I have efi reader, I can change chips but as you mentioned I need to learn how to crack the password from efi dump somebody did this for me and posted the code which is great.
can you please help me how to get the code out of efi dump thanks
I entered the password then remove EFI password and then I boot with USB drive format the hard drive make a new partition and install new operating system but after installing it again boots up in operating system password and says your computer is disabled driving in one minute I don't know how it's coming again even after a clean install OSX any idea
It is not booting in single user mode. I try win+s but it boots up normal.
But when i did have password on efi, it use to get the efi password while pressing win +s.
it there any way to reset nvram using the terminal?
if you can boot with ALT and select a boot device, you can boot USB install media (or DVD) and the installer utility will have a terminal for you to access.
additionally, you can create a rEFInd boot USB (or DVD). you boot this boot loader, and it will allow you to force an OS X install to boot in single-user mode.
just to clarify:
Start or restart your Mac. As soon as you hear the startup tone, press and hold Command-S on the keyboard. Keep holding down those keys until you see a black screen with white lettering. This is called “booting into Single User Mode.”
ONCE I AM IN TERMINAL I SIMPLY type "nvram -c", EXIT AND RESTART. GREAT MASHALLH. IT WORKED. YOU ARE LIFE SAVER BECAUSE THIS IMAC WAS SUCH A PAIN FOR ME.
try using HxD for hex editing. your programmer software will work, but it's easier to move around with a standalone editor.
search for the entire string 730065006300750072006900740079002D00700061007300730077006F0072006400
once you find that entire string, you'll copy from the AA 55 7F BEFORE it, up to the 00 00 AFTER it.
see how the searched string is in dark blue, but the copied string is in light blue? what you copy starts before the string and ends after it. the red notates where to stop copying.
