thanks for your detailed info.

On the second picture, you have a Pomona clip , can you please tell me which model is that Pomona and also where I can buy it from? I assume that Pomona can be used to clip any newest chip such as Montronix 25L6473E, etc. Your help will be much appreciated! regards

I have started a new thread for you. Please reserve that thread for successful flash environments.

The clip is the Pomona 5250

You can often find it with wires, but I use wires purchased separately.

This clip is only good for SOIC8 packages. Macronix and winbond chips are available in SOIC8 and also WSON8 packages. you will find that Apple has shifted to WSON packages and there are no exposed legs to clip onto, hence the introduction of the ezflash clips to allow interface through the debug headers.
