NOOB ALERT!

Sorry for being stupid...but!

I have here an imac A1418 that a friend has been using for about 8 months quite happy.
She bought it second hand , and has just done some updates for the first time.
Since the updates it failed to boot properly (coming up other user . name / password).
So I looked at it and it has a EFI password on.

I removed the chip, saved a dump a few times and flashed with a donor, changeing the serial number.

So now it wont boot properly, I can boot to recovery ok and her data is still good on the drive connected via usb to another mac. If I boot to recovery I can reinstall (mountain lion??) onto a new hdd.

Why wont the mac boot her old drive.?   Any ideas?

Send OLD BIN file so we can clean original one and flash it back
