Hey all!
Excellent write up.. I've read twice and I'd like to try flashing the efi chip with firmware from the community that is unlocked.

I'm working on a mid 2012 mbp 13".

Anyone able to send me this file?

Thank you all in advance.
Matlock

Search and replace '<MODEL_NUMBER_GOES_HERE>' with your actual model number. THIS is the link to the correct EFI firmware that you need for EMC - 2554 13'' MBP i5. I have also attached a copy of it to the forum.

Can you help me with understand with what i will be replacing the '<model number goes here>' with.

I've tried various permutations of:
A1278 (EMC 2554*)

Including
A1278
(EMC 2554*)
EMC 2554*
A1278 (EMC 2554*)

But i ultimately get an error about the image size doesnt match the flash chip's size

Thank you again for the help

Your serial number is what goes there. (I know it says model number.) I just sanitized all files that I have like this. So the serial number of your device goes there. From < to >. Your serial number is 12 characters long.

... And with that last bit of information i have successfully bypassed the efi lock using your instructions!

I can't say thank you enough.

I'll be sticking around the community to try and help as much as i can. One word of advice... read, read, read the instructions!

Is it ROM without password? Looks like clean, no password and never was set.

Good news: 'Empty-password-stamp'
May be bad news: All dumps contains second serial number - MLB, which are located at offset 0x7FFF14 or 0x7FFF07.
It doesn't matter until device gets into Apple's tech hands. It is possible that both numbers should identify one device only.

Please elaborate, I looked at the offsets above and found no serial. Do you men the string at the very end?

Yes we do in the downloads section, but why do you need one if it can be sanitized? It's better to show us the full picture so we can come up with the best course of action for you.

HI thaGH05T

Original Dump File I Have Sent You Via Contact Forum And Your Replied Me After Cleaning That Dump File Then I Write That File On Mac Book Pro But Its Shows 4 Digit Pin Code EFI Password Was Removed.

Then I Clear PRAM (Here's how to reset your PRAM:
Shut down your machine. Yes, all the way down, not sleep or logging out.
Press the power button and then press command-option-p-r.
Hold those keys down until your Mac reboots again and you here the startup chime.
Let go of the keys and let your Mac reboot normally.)

And Its Working Fine Now :cheer: .
But I Do Wanna Learn How To Clean Dump File

Thank You.

Cleaning the dump is found in my tutorial, but I think I will do a writeup on EFI firmware and it's mysteries. Honestly token.paul should actually do that writeup as he is leagues above me with EFI technology.
