Hi! My 2015 Macbook 12" (A1534) just gave me the EFI lock. I've been scouring the internet and this site (which is awesome btw), but a little lost to where I should start. Any ideas? I'm guessing my first job is to figure out where the chip is on the board. If there is no awesome clip or ghost connector, will I have to whip out my soldering iron? Any pointers for a noob?
You are about right, you need to locate and identify the chip you have and make anew post with your model so we can help you with your next steps. Also you will need to get a programmer a clip and some wires. If in worst case you have to solder then you will need a hotair gun which is pretty dangerous in terms of board rework.
EMC 2554? The best approach is to flash the chip with the pi as I have told you before because the brute force method may not work. But if you want to send me the teensy I will put the code on it for you, but you must include return shipping.
The tutorial I have is pretty self explanatory, but the basic process is to use a raspberry pi with a SOIC8 clip or my easy flash clip and dump the firmware from your EFI chip, patch it, and write it back to the chip.
I've seen the tutorial, thats way outta my abilities. Is there a place i can pay to get it done? because i went to apple and they couldn't help me out at all.
